DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – Work in the area of Mesaba Avenue, Superior Street and I-35 will result in an extension of one closure and the addition of another beginning on Monday (8/24).
Traffic from I-35 on Mesaba going uphill between Superior Street and 1st Street will remain closed for another two weeks as unexpected additional concrete work needs to be completed.
The on ramp to southbound I-35 from Mesaba Avenue will remain closed until the end of September.
Superior Street near Mesaba Avenue is closed to traffic starting on Monday (8/24) through the end of October and detours will be posted.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) project in that area includes bridge rehabilitation, pavement replacement and storm sewer work.
There is also the pedestrian bridge reconstruction over I-35 with a northbound lane shift and occasional lane restrictions.
