The New England Revolution acquired defender Tylon Smith on loan from England’s Queens Park Rangers on Thursday.
The 21-year-old South African joins the Revs through the 2027 MLS sprint season. The deal includes a purchase option.
“Tylon Smith is a promising player who will help strengthen our defense,” general manager and chief soccer officer Chris Tierney said. “At just 21 years old, Tylon has built a strong foundation through both his club and youth national team experience. We’re confident that this is the ideal environment for Tylon to continue his development and we look forward to welcoming him to New England.”
Smith played for hometown club Stellenbosch FC before joining the EFL Championship side in 2025. He made a total of 10 appearances with QPR.
