DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – On Monday, the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) will begin construction on the Highway 61-London Road project.
The first portion of the project is building a roundabout at 26th Avenue East and utility relocation at 40th Avenue East.
Starting at 40th Avenue East, London Road will only be open to northbound traffic. Southbound traffic will be detoured to Superior Street to 21st Avenue East.
That configuration is expected to continue through mid-June.
MnDOT is resurfacing London Road and constructing roundabouts at 26th and 40th Avenue East intersections and improving pedestrian facilities.
Weekly virtual public updates will be held every Wednesday, starting May 6th, at 11 a-m. There will also be weekly email updates.
The work will continue until November this year and then resume in the summer of 2027.
