DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – A variety of local, state and federal law enforcement agencies and the Lake Superior Violent Offender Task Force have arrested 48 people in an ongoing investigation of an Illinois street gang that brings large quantities of illegal drugs into the Northland.
Beginning in May of 2023, the investigation focused on local drug activity but soon expanded to higher level targets linked to the Black P Stone gang out of Harvey, Illinois.
As part of the investigation, 24 arrests were made on January 7th and authorities seized over 28 thousand dollars in cash and large amounts of meth, fentanyl and cocaine.
The investigation continues and other individuals are still being sought.
Authorities say the operation has already severely disrupted the source of illegal drugs in the area.
