DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – From 6 a-m Monday until 6 a-m Tuesday the Blatnik Bridge is closed in both directions as new connections are made between the bridge and I-35 in Duluth.
Motorists will need to take the Bong Bridge during the closure.
When the Blatnik re-opens on Tuesday, the Minnesota Department of Transportation reminds drivers to watch for merging traffic, minimize distractions and use extra caution while navigating the new connections with the bridge.
Meanwhile, several single lane closures on I-35 will occur this week and there will be an overnight closure of the ramp from westbound Highway 2 to northbound I-35 from 8 p-m Tuesday to 5 a-m Wednesday. A detour will be marked.
On Thursday, southbound I-35 from 5th Avenue West to 27th Avenue West will close at 8 p-m and re-open at 5 a-m Friday. Traffic will be detoured on Superior Street to 27th Avenue West during the closure.
The lane, ramp and road closures this week are needed as work continues on the Twin Ports Interchange Project.
