DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office has received numerous reports of scam calls in the area lately.
The caller claims to be a member of law enforcement and demands a monetary payment as a fine for a missed court date.
The calls are not legitimate and the Sheriff’s Office reminds citizens that they don’t call people asking for payments over the phone.
If you receive such a call, do not provide any payments by credit card or gift card and, if you want to make a police report, call 911.
