SUPERIOR, WI (KDAL) – For the second time this week, the Superior Fire Department was called to the Cenovus Superior Refinery.
Superior fire crews joined Cenovus Emergency Response personnel Thursday afternoon to dissipate petroleum vapors following the release of heavy fuel oil in a process unit.
Non essential Cenovus personnel were temporarily evacuated as a precaution.
There is no danger to the public and the vapors were dissipated using water fog streams and steam while reducing pressure in the system.
On Wednesday, Fire Department and Cenovus crews dealt with a release of propane at the refinery.
