DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – The first St. Louis County online auction of tax forfeit property in 2022 closed with sales totaling 1.25 million dollars.
Of the 33 properties sold, nearly half were purchased by adjoining property owners or others in the vicinity.
Properties that were not sold at the auction are now available for sale on a first come, first serve basis at the county’s Land and Minerals Department.
St. Louis County offers tax forfeit online auctions three times each year, the others will be in June and October.
The properties are sold to encourage development and increase the property tax base in the county.
