ST. PAUL, MN (KDAL) – The Minnesota Department of Agriculture (MDA) is getting reports of some Minnesota residents getting unsolicited packages of seeds in the mail.
It appear that the seeds are coming from China or other foreign countries and several other states have reported similar situations.
If you happen to get a package of seeds, the MDA cautions you not to plant the seeds but contact the state’s Pest Line at 1-888-545-6684 or online at arrest.the.pest@state.mn.us and provide your name, contact info and the date the package was received.
Officials will then coordinate shipping the package and contents to the MDA Seed Program.
