DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – The Western Lake Superior Sanitary District (WLSSD) is hosting a free collection event for unwanted or expired medications on Friday.
The Medicine Cabinet Cleanout Day event is being held at the Household Hazardous Waste Facility from 9 a-m to 4 p-m.
Prescriptions and over-the-counter medication should be brought in original containers and put in a sealed, clear plastic bag. Names and other identifying information can be scratched off the labels.
Remember that area law enforcement agencies and some local pharmacies feature year around medicine drop-off boxes for your convenience.
Old medicine should not be flushed down toilets or drains which could introduce the drugs into area waterways.
