Sep 26 (Field Level Media) – Ole Miss running back Kewan Lacy is not expected to play on Saturday at Florida due to a left shoulder injury, coach Pete Golding told ESPN.
The No. 4 Rebels (3-0, 1-0 SEC) and No. 21 Gators (3-0, 1-0) kick off at 3:30 p.m. ET in Gainesville, Fla.
“We still have another chapel session, so I’m not giving up yet,” Golding told ESPN.
Lacy was downgraded to doubtful on Friday’s Southeastern Conference injury report because of the injury sustained in last week’s victory against LSU. He rushed for 43 yards and a touchdown on nine carries before leaving in the third quarter of the Rebels’ 32-24 defeat of the then-No. 7 Tigers.
A 2025 All-American and Doak Walker Award finalist, Lacy has 191 yards and four touchdowns on 39 carries this season. He rushed for 1,567 yards and 24 touchdowns in 15 games for Ole Miss last season.
With Lacy out of the lineup, sophomore JT Lindsey and Michigan State transfer Makhi Frazier are expected to split the carries against Florida.
