DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office began a partnership with the U-S Marshals Service in 2019 creating the North Star Fugitive Task Force.
The Task Force is responsible for conducting fugitive investigations throughout Minnesota, across the United States and internationally. Their mission is to locate and apprehend fugitives and hold offenders accountable.
This January, the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office expanded their partnership by assigning a deputy to the Task Force on a full time basis.
That renewed partnership has produced significant results with the apprehension of 53 fugitives.
Task Force investigations have also resulted in the seizure of 15 firearms, over 3 thousand grams of methamphetamine, 1,200 grams of cocaine, 250 grams of fentanyl and nearly 75 thousand dollars believed to be proceeds from narcotics trafficking.
