DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – The Greater Minnesota Regional Park and Trails Commission has awarded 1.3 million dollars for improvements to the Duluth Traverse trail network.
The Duluth Traverse is a bike optimized, multi-use natural surface trail that stretches along the ridge-line of the city and connects with 22 parks.
The funding will help develop the Lester Park trail-head and create a new bike skills area. Construction on the project is expected to begin in 2027.
The Duluth Traverse grant is part of 11.3 million dollars in funding for parks and trails around the state from the Minnesota commission for fiscal year 2027.
