Ready to roll as the homestand continues.
Defensive hockey will be the law of the land this weekend, though. Omaha has been bleeding chances at its end of the ice, as goalies Simon Latkoczy and Dawson Cowan have seen over 40 percent of the shots they’ve faced come from high-danger areas. Omaha’s penalty kill comes in under 70 percent after North Dakota went 4-for-8 on the power play with a pair of late five-on-three goals.
UMD, however, has struggled to contain the heavy, hard Mavericks in the defensive zone over a four-game Omaha win streak in the series.
The Bulldogs have also been goalie’d a couple times along the way by Latkoczy, the Mavericks’ co-captain who will look to rebound from a tough ten-goal weekend against UND.
Adam Gajan vs Simon Latkoczy.
(Omaha is dressing 20 for the pregame warmup, with freshman forward Cameron Briere listed as an extra skater.)
