DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – The first ocean going ship of the season arrived under the Aerial Lift bridge at 11:44 on Monday morning.
The bulk carrier Barbro G, sailing under the flag of Portugal, will be loading about 22 thousand tons of wheat destined for Algeria.
The Duluth Port Authority will hold the annual First Ship welcoming event on Tuesday and announce the winner of the First Ship contest from nearly 8 thousand entries based on the arrival time.
Last year the Federal Dart arrived on March 28th, the earliest ever arrival of a “saltie” in the Twin Ports.
