DULUTH, MN (CBS-3) – There are several opportunities to recycle your Christmas tree after the holiday season comes to a close.
The Western Lake Superior Sanitary District is holding its annual treecycling event.
Anyone is welcome to drop off their tree for free starting Thursday, December 26. Some locations are open through January 10 while others will collect trees through January 31.

Duluth West Toolhouse 2407 Commonwealth Avenue
Rose Garden London Rd & 13th Ave E (parking lot)

Demolicious 306 S Central Avenue Weekdays 8am 5pm, Sat 8am 2pm (closed Dec 25 & Jan 1)
VONCO V Landfill 1100 W Gary Street Weekdays 7am 5pm (closed Dec 25 & Jan 1)
WLSSD Materials Recovery Center 4587 Ridgeview Road Tue Sat 9am 4pm (closed Dec 24, Dec 25 & Jan 1)
WLSSD Yard Waste Compost Site 2626 Courtland Street Daily 7am 5pm (open Dec 19 onward)
In Carlton County December 21 through January 12:
SAPPI Fine Paper (Gatehouse Entrance) and the Moose Lake Compost Site are collecting trees after the holidays.
Accordiing to WLSSD’s website, wreaths, stands, garland, and other holiday decorations should be placed in your trash.
