SUPERIOR, WI (KDAL) – To comply with the social distancing requirements of the Safe at Home order from Governor Evers, restrictions are in place for those harvesting smelt on Wisconsin Point.
The City of Superior is reminding the public that only Douglas County residents with family members from a single living unit or immediate household can use Wisconsin Point or Superior beaches.
In an effort to limit social gatherings, the number of people around bonfires should maintain social distancing of six feet.
Smelters should also adhere to the normal hours on Wisconsin Point. Parking lots beyond Lot #1 close at 11 p-m and no overnight camping is allowed during the smelt run this year.
