HIBBING, MN (CBS-3) – Hibbing Police say one of the 3-year-old twin boys who went missing Monday and were later found in a locked vehicle, has died.
The 3-year-old twins were reported missing Monday afternoon.
The children were found nearly an hour and a half later, locked inside a vehicle near the family’s home.
According to police, both boys were unresponsive and in medical distress due to the heat inside of the vehicle.
One of the boys was airlifted to the Children’s Hospital in Minneapolis and later died. The other boy has been released from a local hospital.
Police said possible charges against the father of the twin boys have been sent to the St. Louis County Attorney’s office for review.
Police did not specify what charges they are requesting or what led up to that decision.
