ALBANY, N.Y. — One more here in Albany, this time for a spot in the Frozen Four.
A UMD team chalk full of standout sophomores will try to push the Bulldogs back to the biggest stage this sport has to offer.
Standing in the way is top-ranked Michigan. It’s a loaded Wolverines lineup, plenty of talent, depth, and a goaltender in Jack Ivankovic who is as good as anyone in the country.
Does UMD have the goods to push this season to Vegas?
UMD is dressing 20 skaters for the pregame warmup, one more than what is allowed for the game. Kyle Gaffney did not practice here Saturday and was apparently ill, so we’ll see if he can go. Blake Bechen will be scratched if everyone else is good.
For Michigan, Montreal second-round pick Michael Hage did not play Friday after suffering an undisclosed injury during the Big Ten title game last week. He’s dressed as the 13th forward after not being seen on the ice at practice Saturday.
