ALBANY, N.Y. — It’s nice to be back in the NCAA Tournament, for sure. But we didn’t miss the random 9pm Eastern time start to bend the knee to what ESPN wants.
When the regionals were announced on Sunday, the “Worldwide Leader in Sports” decided to switch the scheduled start times for the regional semifinals in Loveland and Albany, because it wanted the star power of Penn State and its leading scorer, Gavin McKenna, in the late game of the day, a game set for broadcast on ESPN2 instead of ESPNU or ESPN+.
So instead of playing at the very reasonable time of 5pm Eastern, here we are with a game that could easily go past midnight.
Fun times for those of us who keep getting older! But if the result is right, we’ll find a way through.
Win or go home. 7:30 pregame at northlandnewsradio.com.
