The end of the regular season is somehow upon us.
For UMD, if you were to look only at the end result, a successful season would have included — bare minimum — home ice to open the NCHC playoffs, and a return to the NCAA Tournament.
One is in the bag. The other might as well be.
Now, we’ll see if the Bulldogs can continue to build their game ahead of a best of three NCHC quarterfinal series here next weekend against one of three opponents: St. Cloud State (most likely), Miami, or these here Colorado College Tigers (the only way that happens is if CC sweeps UMD this weekend, with both wins in regulation).
Adam Gajan, who hasn’t played in a game since Jan. 30 and didn’t return to Duluth until Tuesday night, will sit and watch this series opener, as Ethan Dahlmeir makes his fifth straight start in goal. Hunter Anderson, who was said to be questionable, is not in the lineup.
Ethan Dahlmeir vs Kaidan Mbereko.
