MEADOWLANDS, MN (KDAL) – On Thursday afternoon, St. Louis County deputies and Rescue Squad members responded to reports of a 55 year old man who got his snowmobile stuck in a swamp the previous night.
The man spent the night in a remote cabin that he found about five miles northwest of Meadowlands and contacted a friend saying he planned to walk to the road in the morning. When he didn’t arrive at the road during the timeframe indicated, the friend called 911 to report him missing.
The snowmobiler was found by searchers about 2 miles from the trail-head where he started, wet and cold but otherwise in good condition.
