DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – Just after 5 a-m on Wednesday, Duluth firefighters responded reports of a fire in the alley of the 400 block of East 8th Street.
They arrived to find a recreational vehicle fully involved in fire which had spread to power lines and a did some damage to a nearby structure.
One person, who was sleeping in the RV, was taken to a hospital for smoke inhalation.
Damage to the RV and nearby structure is estimated at 15 thousand dollars. The cause is under investigation but is not thought to be suspicious.
COLVIN TOWNSHIP, MN (KDAL) – Around 10 a-m Wednesday, several area fire departments were called to a semi truck fire near the 2200 block of Highway 4 in Colvin Township.
The driver was inspecting a flat tire when he noticed smoke billowing from near the cab of the truck.
The truck was listed as a total loss but the trailer and its contents were unharmed.
It is believed that the flat tire caused another component to become hot enough to start the fire. There were no injuries.
