DULUTH, MN (CBS-3) – The city of Duluth is currently reviewing an application for development filed by discount warehouse chain Costco.
The concept plan, dated August 22, calls for 58.71 acres to be developed at the intersection of West Arrowhead Road and Haines Road.
The six parcels of land border the Duluth-Hermantown line and the St. Louis County Jail.
The proposal consists of a Costco membership club, tire center, liquor pod and gas station. Most of the land is listed by Holappa Commercial Real Estate and carries a price tag of more than $2 million.
Following a city staff review, the application would go before a public hearing by the City Planning Commission, followed by the Duluth City Council.
5.29 acres of land in the proposal currently belong to New Life Lutheran Church, which opened its doors in late 2016.
It was not immediately clear what would happen with the building or land. The President of the Church directed questions to their attorney, who is out of the office through next Tuesday.
