DULUTH, MN (CBS-3) – Duluth Police say a woman was hospitalized after being run over by a FedEx truck while crossing the street.
Officials say they responded to the downtown Duluth area of 1st Avenue East between Superior Street and 1st Street around 1 p.m. on Wednesday.
Police say reports show the 51-year-old woman was waiting to cross the street and the driver waved her by. When she was crossing, police say she slipped and fell. The driver apparently no longer saw the woman, so he thought she had crossed and began to pull forward. At that point, police say the truck rolled over the pedestrian.
The woman was hospitalized for unknown injuries, but police say she was alert when they arrived on scene.
